Join us on July 24 and 25 for two-day workshop with Wafa Ghnaim and contribute to Jimena Sarno’s installation “Life in the Forest” that is now on view in “Jimena Sarno: Rhapsody.”

Wafa Ghnaim will  introduce the technique of tatreez — traditional embroidery from the eastern Mediterranean — as a form of visible, structural mending. Participants are invited to explore how Palestinian, Syrian, Jordanian, and Lebanese embroidery practices have historically combined decoration with repair — emphasizing reuse, improvisation, and sustainability.

Members of the community recently gathered in Kidspace to add the final touches to a Declaration Quilt, a collaborative piece inspired by the themes of connection, belonging, and collective storytelling that are present throughout Lara Downes’ work, bringing together individual voices into a shared expression.

Join us in the Hunter Center on July 18 for “HOLD THESE TRUTHS: Lara Downes and Friends” and witness the completed quilt come to life as part of an evening of music, reflection, and community. The concert will feature work from Downes’ “The Declaration Project,” a nationwide initiative exploring our shared vision for the future.

PUNK is coming to MASS MoCA’s R&D Store on June 26 in the form of “50 Years of PUNK” — a dynamic exhibition honoring the groundbreaking legacy of “PUNK Magazine.”

“50 Years of PUNK” not only celebrates the publication’s enduring cultural impact, but also the artists, photographers, and musicians who helped shape one of the most influential creative movements of the 20th century.

Organized by Ki Smith Gallery, the exhibition features art and photographs by Roberta Bayley, R. Crumb, Shepard Fairey, Danny Fields, Bob Gruen, and Chris Stein, alongside special contributions from Brian Eno, Debbie Harry, David Byrne, Mark Mothersbaugh, Joan Jett, and many more.

Now on view in “Technologies of Relation,” Roopa Vasudevan’s “Requiem for the Early Internet” invites visitors to reconsider their relationship with technology in today’s digital landscape.

The installation features eight commemorative plaques dedicated to websites and platforms from the 1990s and 2000s, each highlighting the positive memories and cultural significance they once held. Through this lens of nostalgia, Vasudevan reflects on a time when engagement with digital technology felt more intentional, prompting visitors to consider how their interactions with technology have evolved.

The Pep Rally is a chance to provide a North Adams welcome to MASS MoCA`s two new trees-in-residence — one from the southeastern US and one from our local region. The trees will be growing together as part of Amanda Lovelee`s outdoor exhibition "Homecoming," opening that very same day, and exemplifying the power of standing together through difference.

MASS MoCA`s immersive Outdoor Exhibitions are officially back on view for the season, inviting all to take advantage of the spring weather and get lost in a sea of art both inside and outside of our walls!
