Commitment to Community Values, People & Place

MASS MoCA is a community of unique individuals who participate in making us who we are as an organization. Whether employed, volunteering, partnering, visiting, or creating and exhibiting art here – every person who walks through our doors contributes to the strength and integrity of our community.

MASS MoCA adopts a pluralistic approach that seeks out and embraces a broad range of perspectives, values and practices. We welcome people whose backgrounds, cultures, and experiences enrich our work and our understanding of the world around us. Diversity, inclusion, access, and belonging are essential for MASS MoCA to be a welcoming place for all, and for dynamic, creative expression to thrive.

MASS MoCA recognizes the dignity of all people and the intrinsic value of every human being. We take to heart the highest principles enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which for nearly a century has been accepted as the standard to which all nations aspire to ensure the fundamental freedoms and protections inherent to every person. This global commitment to human rights begins in our backyard, and we are proud of the roots we have here and of the history, aspirations, and culture of this city, region, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

We will not tolerate racism, discrimination, harassment, and marginalization directed at or by anyone in our MASS MoCA community.
