AN OCCURRENCE AT BRAKE RUN HELIX (Theater)
Week 1: July 31 – August 4, 2023
Something fascinating and inexplicable is happening at the amusement park! Particularly at the main attraction, Brake Run Helix. Come spend a theatrically fantastic and dramatically wondrous week creating an original play to be performed with EJ Hill’s joyful Brake Run Helix as the setting.

THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE INCLUDING US RIGHT NOW (Dance/Movement)
Week 2: August 7 – August 11, 2023
How do you tell the history of the universe through movement? What can we communicate with the stretch of an arm or the stomp of our feet? Under Spencer Finch’s expansive light installation, Cosmic Latte, campers will explore dance and movement to create a piece of choreography that explores the expansive everything that was and is. This week we will explore how art and dance can help us find our place in the universe.

INSTALLATION STATION (Visual Art/Art Installation)
Week 3: August 14 – August 18, 2023
SOLD OUT!

Ever wanted to make something BIG? Like, really WOW BIG!?! Inspired by the enormity of MASS MoCA’s spaces and installations—like the work of Laurie Anderson and kelli rae adams—campers will take the week to think BIG and develop, construct, and install a large scale work of art around a theme or idea of their choosing.

SOUND AND COLOR (Sound and Video)
Week 4: August 21 – August 25, 2023
SOLD OUT !

Sound and video are front and center this week as participants are tasked with constructing a multimedia work of art to be installed in or around MASS MoCA galleries. Taking a page from MASS MoCA fixtures such as Julianne Swartz’s In Harmonicity, the Tonal Walkway and  Sol Lewitt: A Wall Drawing Retrospective, campers will explore multimedia based art and how to tell a story using everyday technology.
