Only a few more days to sign up for the Summit 4 Teens, taking place at MASS MoCA this Friday, November 15, from 4:00-9:00pm! The Summit brings together artists, college students, museum staff, and teens for an action-packed event to envision youth arts programming.

The MASS MoCA Education Department and MCLA arts management students host the Summit 4 Teens for local high school students to sample potential art programs and co-plan upcoming teen programs. A teen advisory council will be formed to meet monthly and establish the framework for a potential Teenspace, which will include a gallery and studio/workshop, in downtown North Adams.

Laura Thompson, MASS MoCA Director of Education + Kidspace, notes, “We are excited to hear directly from teens on their ideas for THEIR art programs, and to work with them and MCLA students to develop THEIR arts space.”
The Summit participants will engage in a brief gallery tour and walking meditation as well as music, spoken word, dance, theater, and visual art stations. The evening will conclude with an hour and a half Dream Big Task Force Brainstorming session. Dinner, special giveaways, and art supplies will be provided.
