Please note, the 11am workshop on Monday, February 17 has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Ticket holders will be notified by email. the 1pm workshop will still take place as scheduled.
RSVP encouraged but not required. (Note: Some workshops may be capped based on attendance, RSVPs will be honored before walk-ups.) Workshops are open to all ages, however younger children may need support from guardians. All children must be accompanied by an adult in Kidspace.
February 2025 Schedule
Monday, February 17: 11am & 1pm, Shadow Puppets with Phoebe Hiltermann
Learn how to animate light and shadow in this workshop where we will design, craft, and play with our very own shadow puppet creations. By drawing and cutting creatures out of paper with moving parts, we will explore visual elements of color, shape, and dimension, and discover how we can use these to create ever changing landscapes of imaginary worlds.
Tuesday, February 18: 11am & 1pm, Readers Theater with Nina Keneally
Learn about storytelling through theater! Together, we will bring to life a classic folk or fairy tale story using the power of reading and play. Participants will read the play, discuss and find roles, and then devise the staging together culminating in a brief performance! This workshop is a great way to explore storytelling and performance in a creative, supportive environment. Beginner reading ability and comfort in sharing with others is required for this workshop.
Wednesday, February 19: 11am & 1pm, Watercolor Nature Journals with Colin Harrington
Learn about watercolor journaling, color theory, and the changing seasons in this hands-on workshop inspired by Keeping a Nature Journal by Clare Walker Leslie. Together, we will journal nature through color, capturing the ebb and flow of time and the world around you. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced with watercolor, this creative session offers a fun way to connect with nature!
3pm Wave Hello Mobiles (Part 1) with Beth Davis
Learn how to create your own unique mobile that celebrates family, movement, and the art of balance. This fun, collaborative project is a wonderful way to engage both children and adults, combining creativity with physics as you explore the center of mass and art making. The finished mobiles make charming art displays that greet visitors with a friendly wave! Participants must attend both parts of this workshop.
Thursday, February 20: 11am & 1pm Garment Making with Erick Ramos-Jacobo
Learn the basics of fashion design inspired by Jeffrey Gibson’s POWER FULL BECAUSE WE’RE DIFFERENT. Using print-making, basic hand stitching, and collaboration, participants will craft unique garments that reflect personal and cultural expression. In groups we will create unique couture pieces ready for the runway!

Friday, February 21: 11am & 1pm Stained Glass Suncatchers with Donald Jackson
Learn how to make vibrant stained glass suncatchers using simple materials. Inspired by Jeffrey Gibson’s POWER FULL BECAUSE WE’RE DIFFERENT, we will create unique shapes, patterns, and color combinations to create a suncatcher that is just as kaleidoscopic as you are! No experience required—just bring your creativity and enjoy the process!
