Bang on a Can celebrates our many years of partnering with CECArtslink and talented musicians from Central Asia with a presentation of the “Bandistan Ensemble.” The performance includes musicians from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan performing traditional music, as well as new collaboratively composed works on instruments such as the Kyl-kobyz, Komuz, Temir, Zhygach ooz, Tanbur, Rubab, and Dutar.

The two-week Bandistan Ensemble visit to the U.S. is a part of the Playing Together program and is fully supported by a two-year grant to CECArtslink from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs.
