Join The Clark Art Institute when artist Jennie C. Jones and Dr. Kimberly Juanita Brown, associate professor of English and Creative Writing at Dartmouth College and author of The Repeating Body: Slavery’s Visual Resonance in the Contemporary (Duke University Press), discuss Jones’s site-specific installation, These (Mournful) Shores, on view at The Clark in the exhibition Ground/work.

This program is part of Dr. Brown’s guest-curated CARE SYLLABUS module, “Black Elegies in Sight and Sound.” A project of MASS MoCA and MCLA, CARE SYLLABUS is a justice-oriented public education and community resource featuring original text, visual media, recordings and virtual live events by activists, artists, and academics. For more information head to caresyllabus.org.

CARE SYLLABUS is a project of THE MIND’S EYE—a research and praxis initiative of MCLA in collaboration with MASS MoCA.
