Free Fall 49 is a dance-based performance responding to the 2016 mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in which many of the victims were Latinx and LGBTQ+. Created by multidisciplinary artist Brendan Fernandes—whose work is on view in the exhibition Choreopolitics—this outdoor performance works to foster a celebratory and reflective atmosphere in which the audience is encouraged to join in with the performers: dancing, falling, and recovering together.

Please join us for a conversation with Brendan Fernandes before the performance.

Schedule:
7:30pm – Conversation with the Artist
8pm – Performance
