The Black Feminist Book Club brings together community members to read, discuss, and take action inspired by Black feminist texts. Gwendolyn VanSant hosts the next iteration of the book club in MASS MoCA’s Research & Development Store. Participants will explore the selected text together, view special exhibitions and community spaces related to the books, and be introduced to organizations that continue the work of historical Black feminists.

It is recommended to read the texts before for discussion, but you are welcome to join and listen in. The Black Feminist Book Club is free to attend, though registration is recommended to save a spot!

The book pick for the November 30 discussion is We Refuse: A Forceful History of Black Resistance by Kellie Carter Jackson. Upon registration you’ll receive a copy of each book, shipped free to your address, and included museum admission for the day of the meet up.
