Sponsorship

  • Support MASS MoCA
  • Thank You!

With annual attendance of 160,000, MASS MoCA ranks among the most visited institutions in the United States dedicated to new art, yet ticket sales and other earned revenue support only a small fraction of our total operating costs. From exhibitions and events to more custom-tailored packages, there are many opportunities for restricted giving and sponsorship at MASS MoCA. Sponsorship benefits include significant exposure to MASS MoCA’s established and growing audience, invitations to exclusive events, and more.

For more information, please contact the Manager of Institutional Giving at grants@massmoca.org.

Exhibition Support

MASS MoCA’s expansive exhibition space and brilliant fabrication team allow MASS MoCA to host five to six original installations of ascending, mid-career artists each year. Our exhibitions are funded mostly through outside support. Exhibition sponsorships at MASS MoCA offer significant philanthropic and marketing opportunities, are available at all levels, and can be tailored to your giving objectives and personal interests.

Education Programs

MASS MoCA offers a wide range of learning opportunities for students, teenagers, teachers, adults, and families. Programs include: Art Assembly performances, in-school artist residencies, after-school programs, teacher trainings and workshops, and Kidspace, the museum’s award-winning, child-centered gallery and hands-on learning studio that presents exhibitions and educational experiences in collaboration with leading artists year-round. These programs seek to address the needs of vulnerable communities, specifically local students, positioning the museum as not just a place for artistic displays for casual viewing, but as a responsive vehicle for positive community engagement. Your sponsorship can provide broad support for our education programs or can be directed to a specific activity or event such as a lecture, a school class visit, or a MASS MoCA free day, which opens the museum to all visitors without charge.

Performing Arts

Presenting more than 80 performances each year including popular music, contemporary dance, alternative cabaret, documentaries, and avant-garde theater, MASS MoCA offers a robust roster of performing arts programming, introducing audiences to the full spectrum of artists, embracing diversity in genre and experience. Sponsorship opportunities range from individual events to performance series and large-scale music festivals.

Event Sponsorship

MASS MoCA seeks underwriting for several annual events, such as our annual Fall Benefit in NYC, Solid Sound Festival, FreshGrass festival, and the Greylock MASSacre bike ride. Event sponsorship offers significant philanthropic and marketing opportunities and can align your brand with successful events that have significant visual impact, with benefits tailored to your specific needs.

Multi-year Sponsorship

There are many opportunities to work with MASS MoCA to develop a sponsorship program that spans over several years. Major multi-year partners support a variety of museum-wide activities and are positioned among the MASS MoCA’s most important supporters. Partner organizations receive exclusive benefits and access while helping us reach an ever-expanding global audience.

To learn more about sponsorship opportunities, please contact the Manager of Institutional Giving at grants@massmoca.org.
