Over 1,200 kids braved the cold last week to sing, spin and scat to traditional Chinese songs with the talented Dave Liang and Zhang Le. What was the occasion? Our second sold-out Art Assembly of the season. Little Dragon Tales was a fun time for all involved, and I think we’re all ready to sing and dance our way into Friday’s Chinese New Year, the Year of the Horse. Yet another amazing and inspiring Art Assembly.
In November, Robbi Kumalo treated us to an a capella adventure through the history of civil and worker rights, equality, and freedom in America. We can’t wait for our third Art Assembly this April. David Gonzalez, with renowned jazz pianist D.D. Jackson, presents Mytholojazz. Gonzalez will sing, dance, joke and story-tell his way through the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Join us as Orpheus descends into Hades, swinging and serenading his way through the trials of the underworld as he searches for his lost wife, Eurydice. Curious? Here‘s a sneak peek.
