Join us for a conversation with artist Osman Khan, whose exhibition Road to Hybridabad opens on August 24. Through new interactive, immersive installations, Road to Hybridabad invites us on a migrant’s nonlinear journey that proposes a connection between folktales and technology as opportunities for delight, and as conversational partners through which histories and identities can be re-read and even re-written as we migrate through the world. Khan’s exhibition is shaped by his own particular experience of identity formation, blending American, South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Muslim lores and visual references. Khan and MASS MoCA Curator Alexandra Foradas will discuss the process of creating the exhibition, and explore how stories shape who we are–and the power of the choices we make as we retell them.

Accessibility Information: This event will take place in MASS MoCA’s Building 11 Swing Space, located down the hallway on the second floor of B11. There is an elevator in the lobby and there are no steps required to enter the venue; the Swing Space is about 90 feet from the elevator. Our campus is large and our parking lot is about a 5–10 minute walk to the main entrance. There are accessible, gender-neutral restrooms available on the 3rd floor of B10, also accessible via the elevator from the lobby.
