Composer Justin Hicks and artist Steffani Jemison perform the U.S. debut of their project Mikrokosmos. The two map vocal pitches and gestures to the syllables of various pop songs, including Gil Scott-Heron’s “We Almost Lost Detroit.” An artist talk follows.
