The audience was immersed in an eccentric community of actors and their frenzied and loving attempt to stage Chekhov’s play The Seagull in upstate NY. Playfully blending documentary and narrative, this film dissolved boundaries between audience and performer, representation and reality. A folksy set from musicians featured in the film started off the evening.
