A Closer Look At Etel Adnan

Etel Adnan appears in many ways a singular figure in global contemporary art and poetry; Robyn Creswell, Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature at Yale University,  joined curator Elise Y. Chagas to discuss the context and detail of Adnan’s twin pursuits of painting and poetry. Creswell discussed the rich literary world in post-World War II Beirut, which foregrounded Adnan’s participation in the early 1970s.

Adnan’s work is now on view in the intimate exhibition A yellow sun A green sun a yellow sun A red sun a blue sun.
