Assets for Artists

MASS MoCA’s Assets for Artists department knows that artists are key contributors to vibrant communities and thriving economies.

  • Through our residency program, The Studios at MASS MoCA, we give visiting artists from around the world the time and space for their own creative development, be it in project execution, reflection, or to simply try something new.
  • Through our workshops and capacity-building program, we support artists in advancing the business and financial goals of their practice to help them sustain their best creative work for a lifetime.
  • We’re especially committed to artists who live in or move to our hometown by providing individual grants and community-building initiatives in partnership with our fellow members of the North Adams Artist Impact Coalition.

It is with gratitude and humility that we acknowledge that we are learning, speaking, and gathering on the ancestral homelands of the  Muhheaconneok, Mohican people or Munsee Lenape people, who are the indigenous peoples of this land. Despite tremendous hardship in being forced from here, today their community resides in Wisconsin and is known as the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. We pay honor and respect to their ancestors past and present as we commit to building a more inclusive and equitable space for all. More information can be found here.
