SUMMARY:In Conversation Technologies of Relation Artist Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Prior to the opening reception of Technologies of Relation\, join the artists as they discuss the current state of technology\, including how we can rethink our relationships to our devices\, to computing\, and to artificial intelligence while bringing increased ethics and agency into the digital landscape. The conversation is moderated by Susan Cross\, MASS MoCA Director of Curatorial Affairs.\nImmediately following the talk\, please join us for the opening celebration at 5:30pm. Learn more. \nTechnologies of Relation\nResponding to the rapidly advancing technologies that are shaping our daily lives and social fabric\, the artists in Technologies of Relation examine how we relate to each other\, to our devices\, and to our future. These creators see the complexity of our relationships to the digital\, avoiding the binary views that frame technology as good or bad\, as tool or monster. They embrace how technology can connect us\, but also acknowledge how algorithms and A.I. have the tendency to oppress and erase marginalized communities. Learn more. \nSupport for Technologies of Relation is provided by the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Foundation and The Coby Foundation\, and a grant from Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation’s Artist’s Resource Trust. \n \n
