Organ virtuoso and jamband wunderkind Marco Benevento performs a new original score to this cult film as part of the Williamstown Film Festival. Roger Corman’s 1960 adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic is a masterpiece of madness, debauchery, and really weird family dynamics. The film stars a ghoulish Vincent Price, as diabolical today as he was 50 years ago. Benevento’s playfully menacing score, performed with his trio, brings the deranged fun to new heights. LA Times says, “Long a cult favorite on the East Coast jam-band/avant-jazz circuit, this 31-year-old keyboardist/sound sculptor has been building a nationwide following for some jaw-dropping improvisational skills (and) a no-genres-barred approach.”
