Space…The Final Frontier?

Blast off to the sun aboard the spaceship at the heart of Michael Oatman’s all utopias fell. Meet the artist and hear about his travels to the outer spaces of his imagination. Create your own fantastical gear to take you to the sun, moon, and other planets. This is a chance for young artists and art enthusiasts to interact with this wildly engaging artist, and participate in art activities — with a break for some intergalactic snacks.

Oatman will give a personal tour and talk about his installation all utopias fell, followed by a reading of his recently published children’s book, Tiny Pie. The artist will sign copies of the book at Hardware: The MASS MoCA Store, where the book is available for purchase. Space-themed art-making activities for children will be guided by Oatman and MASS MoCA’s education staff.
