“If Beck recorded in a monastery, this is what he might sound like. This is the best debut album I’ve heard in years.” — Paste Magazine

Named 2008 Best New Artist by NPR’s All Songs Considered, the composer turned beatmaker Ryan Lott a.k.a. Son Lux (Listen now!) has whipped critics and fans alike into a frenzy with what might be the most original debut album of the decade. “Son Lux funnels classical know-how into profound modern art songs. Electronica, alt-hip-hop, chamber-like arrangements, spare piano pop and other diverse strains come together to form a striking, futuristic whole on At War with Walls & Mazes.” (Time Out NY)

His performance is accompanied here by the cinematic visual improvisations of multidisciplinary artist Joshue Ott. They’ll be trying out some new syncing possibilities with Joshue’s superDraw software. Bring your iPhone or iPod Touch as there should be a chance for you to participate with Joshue. You need to download an app first. See our blog for instructions.

Ryan adds, “also bringing along my friend Caleb Burhans (itsnotyouitsme, alarm will sound, escort) to play violin, sing, and even bang on some drums.
