The ArtsLand Festival

Work-in-Progress Theatre

Three directors. Three countries. One Festival.

The ArtsLand Foundation, a Boston-based leading producer and promoter of Eastern European and Eurasian theater, brings three preeminent directors from Armenia, Russia, and Uzbekistan to MASS MoCA this August. Distinct in their style and approach to directing, Vahan Badalyan, Lev Erenburg, and Boris Gafurov share a commitment to live theater and a passion for ensemble acting. Each director will workshop one project with American actors.

The ArtsLand Festival 2017 will feature:

TWO ARROWS
by Alexander Volodin
Directed by Boris Gafurov

KARAMAZOV BROTHERS

Directed by Lev Erenburg

ARMENIAN TALES

What to expect
This event will be “up in the club” with cabaret-style seating. Join us before matinée shows for lunch in our in-house café. Be ready to make new friends — our tables seat five, and, if your party is smaller, you might find others at your table.
